The holidays are over, I'm back to work at my *real* job, and it's perfect weather for working with clay. It's been about a decade since a car accident changed my life and brought my ceramics to a screeching halt. I found it too painful to even center a lump of clay on the wheel, then having to move so many times killed my kiln.
A few weeks ago I cleaned the paint off the potter's wheel and a few days ago I finally had a chance to play in the mud. I spent almost 3 hours trying to get my chops back and finally gave up to check out Youtube vids to see what I was doing wrong. I guess I thought it would all come back as soon as I sat down, but alas, tisn't so. But I'm giving my brain a little time to mull things over so when I get my next chance to sneak out to the studio my body will remember what to do.
In the meantime, I'm taking pics of all the work that didn't sell last year and getting it all listed either here or in my Etsy shop. I will be adding a new shop linked here for finished ceramic art. There will be varied functional items along with tile sets, jewelry, and crazy critters galore so be certain to check in some time in February when I've had a chance to run a couple firings in my new (to me) kiln.
When show season starts in April or May I hope to have loads of new merchandise!
